Ibiza JoySail 2025 concludes with victories shared across the Pityusic waters

Ibiza JoySail 2025

Ibiza JoySail 2025 came to a close this Sunday, marking its fourth edition with a fleet of 22 superyachts and five different champions across the Performance, Performance Cruising L, Performance Cruising M, Performance Cruising XL and World Cruising categories. After four days of racing in gentle breezes that rarely exceeded ten knots, the event strengthened its reputation as the Mediterranean’s definitive end-of-season regatta.

In the Performance class, there were no surprises: Moat dominated with authority, winning all four races to record a clean sweep. With Nacho Postigo on navigation, the Swan 115 was untouchable from start to finish, successfully defending the title it secured in 2024. Its sistership Jasi finished second with eight points after four consecutive runner-up places, while Morgana completed the podium on twelve. Esense, fifth overall, was recognised as the best Corinthian entry.

Performance Cruising L saw Liberty Squared take victory with a total of five points. The American yacht, with Alicia Ageno as navigator, built its success on three race wins, though Juan Ignacio Entrecanales’ Kiboko 4 kept the pressure on until the final day. The Spanish representative, who also took first place in the Corinthian division, secured second with eight points, confirming steady progress across the week. Gelliceaux closed the podium on thirteen.

In Performance Cruising M, a high-level duel unfolded between the two Café Racers. Ultimately, Open Season emerged champion with five points, thanks to two key victories at decisive moments. Ganesha remained close throughout, finishing second on seven points. Viento and Shambho tied on fifteen, with Shambho taking third on countback.

Performance Cruising XL was decided by the narrowest of margins. L’Hippocampe and Spiip both finished on seven points after sharing wins and second places. The tie-break went in favour of the French yacht, which claimed the title in one of the regatta’s most hotly contested categories. Geist was third with ten points, while Cervo finished bottom with sixteen.

The World Cruising class also ended in a dead heat. Aurelius and Nostromo each totalled six points after trading wins across four races. The overall title went to Aurelius on the strength of its final-day result, leaving Nostromo in second. Karibu finished third with fourteen points, followed by Namuun on fifteen.

The regatta’s showpiece, the round-Formentera race held on Friday over a 19-nautical mile course, delivered some of the edition’s most memorable scenes. The superyachts sailed in tight formation until Mitjorn Beach, before stretching out past Cabo de la Barberia and racing towards the finish at Punta de la Gavina.

With this edition complete, Ibiza JoySail further underlines its growth and international appeal. Five distinct champions and a strong fleet consolidate its place as a fixture of the Mediterranean calendar, set against the unique backdrop of Ibiza and Formentera.
